Last year, while the weather was grey and cold in Cape Town and I had been longing for snow and Austria, I made my Scandinavian Dolls and Gnomes . . . I loved the doll-making time and felt very much in a Christmas mood all through June and July . . . and then . . . during a little winterbreak in Citrusdal it got friezing cold one night and next morning the mountains around were covered in snow.
